Spend the day with northern based artist, Amy Dover, as she teaches the art of botanical drawing and explores the different techniques in illustration.
The workshop will be held in the tranquil Fig House and will begin with a nature walk around The Kitchen Garden to pick the plants and blooms to work with during the illustration workshop.
In the morning, Amy will demonstrate how to use cyanotype, a classic photography and printing process that creates a blue print of an object. You will be able to pick a piece of flora to use for your own cyanotype print. Followed by a quick drawing session, where you will learn the different styles of illustration methods.
After a break for lunch, Amy will show you how to rinse, hang and dry your cyanotype prints. Followed by a relaxing slow drawing and painting session to create your own botanical drawing.
Suitable for all levels of skill, including complete beginners. The course includes all materials. Lunch is not included.
